ANKARA
Turkish Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) has announced that there were 147,107 Syrians currently staying in Turkey after fleeing clashes in their country.
In a written statement released Wednesday, AFAD reminded that they set up five tent cities in Hatay, two in Sanliurfa, three in Gaziantep and one each in Osmaniye, Kahramanmaras and Adiyaman and one container city in Kilis.
AFAD said that Syrian citizens taking shelter in Turkey were provided with lodging, food, health services, security, social activities, education, religious services, translation services and communications.
It was said that a total of 206,954 Syrians fled to Turkey so far but 59,847 of them returned to Syria.
Syrians are provided meal three times a day, AFAD also said.
