AYDIN
Ten thousand visitors came to Turkish seaside town of Kusadasi with eight different cruise ships in a day.
Kusadasi 'Ege Ports' harbour received 'Le Lavant', 'Saga Ruby', 'Silver Wind', 'Princess Danea', 'Wind Spirit', 'Orient Queen', 'Panorama' and 'Riviera' named cruise ships on Tuesday.
Umut Ozgunc, the operations executive of Kusadasi of Istanbul Naval Ship Agent, stated that it was the first time that all eight cruise liners harboured in Kusadasi at the same time and stressed that it is important for tourism.
Ozgunc said, "Improvements enabled the Kusadasi passenger harbour to serve for more visitors and cruise liners. As a cruise liner and ship agency we are happy and satisfied from these improvements. Once there are more ships, Kusadasi and Turkey receives money in too, not just the cruise ship agents."
Director General of Kusadasi Ege Ports Harbour, Aziz Gungor, said that in 2012 there will be 600 cruise ships harbouring in Kusadasi and bringing 700 thousand visitors to the resort town in the Aegean coast of Turkey.
