Turkish transportation minister said Izmir would be the center of Europe-Asia trade with the North Aegean Port whose construction has been continuing in Candarli.

IZMIR

Turkish transportation minister said that the western province of Izmir would be the center of Europe-Asia trade with the North Aegean Port whose construction has been continuing in Candarli.
A statement by Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yildirim said on Sunday that the North Aegean Port whose foundation was laid in Candarli in May 2011 was one of the transportation projects that have been implemented in Turkey in the past decade.
It was an important project that would make Izmir a trade center, he said.
Yildirim said that the North Aegean Port would be among the 10 biggest ports in the world.
The port would bring 700 million TL of income to Izmir annually, he added.
