700 cartoons will compete at an international contest "July 11, Black Day" to remember Srebrenica massacre.

Izmir-Bosnian Association President Hamza Yavuz told Anadolu Agency that they organized the "July 11, Black Day", international cartoon contest to remember the pain of the awful massacre which was comitted 18 years ago, and to explain this to new generations.

Yavuz noted that the deadline of the contest was on May 31 and added, "Usually about 100 cartoons compete at these kind of events. However, we have received 700 cartoons from countries including Bosnia-Herzegovina, France, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Turkey. There are mainly students who join the event. We are very satisfied with their application."

He highlighted that group of jury would assess the participating cartoons and decide on which one to exhibit.

He added that their exhibition would visit several cities across Turkey starting from Izmir on June 7.
