Zenit beat Barcelona to tie EuroLeague playoff series

ANKARA

Russian basketball club Zenit St Petersburg beat Spanish powerhouse Barcelona 74-61 to tie a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoff series 2-2 on Friday. 

Zenit was led by Canadian-Slovenian guard Kevin Pangos as the 28-year-old scored 22 points and had eight assists at Saint Petersburg's Sibur Arena.

Barcelona's top scorer in game four was Nick Calathes as the Greek playmaker had 19 points and five rebounds.

The Russians has managed to take the series to a final game five in Barcelona's home court on May 4.

The winner of the next game will qualify for the Final Four in Germany's Cologne on May 28.

Similar to Zenit, Germany's Bayern Munich also leveled its series, beating Italian club AX Armani Exchange Milan 85-82 at Munich's Audi Dome.

Bayern Munich's American guard Wade Baldwin IV racked up 18 points. But the high scorer was Malcolm Delaney from AX Armani Exchange Milan.

Delaney scored 28 against Bayern Munich but was unable to avoid the away loss.

Bayern Munich will visit AX Armani Exchange Milan on May 4 as game five will be played at Mediolanum Forum.

Only CSKA Moscow from Russia has qualified for the Final Four.

CSKA Moscow won its series 3-0 to eliminate Fenerbahce Beko from Turkey.

The 2021 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four will be held on May 28-30 at Lanxess Arena, Cologne without spectators due to the coronavirus pandemic.
