Warriors rout Nuggets 142-111, break another NBA record

ANKARA

The Golden State Warriors have defeated the Denver Nuggets 142-111 on Tuesday evening, taking back the Western Conference top spot from their opponents.

The game in Pepsi Center started hot for the Warriors, as they hit 10 three-pointers, leading to a 51-point first quarter outburst.

No NBA team in history managed to score 51 points in the first quarter, making the Warriors the current record-holder.

The Syracuse Nationals in 1962, the Boston Celtics n 1982, the Utah Jazz in 1982, the Milwaukee Bucks in 1989 and the Phoenix Suns in 1990 scored 50 points in the first quarter.

Warriors, with the victory, got their 5th win in a row and are now the top seed in the Western Conference with 30 wins and 14 losses.

Denver Nuggets dropped to the second place with 29 wins and 14 losses.

For the Warriors, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry scored 31 points each, Kevin Durant added 27 points. Draymond Green was the top assist maker with 13.
