Demir Grup Sivasspor topped the table of Turkey’s top football league at first half of 2019-20 season, securing 37 points.

Sivasspor defeated Goztepe 1-0 in Sunday's game at home before the first half of the Super Lig closed.

Mustapha Yatabare's goal in the 66th minute led his team to the victory over the Izmir team.

An underdog team have been performing much beyond expectations, sitting at the top of the league with 37 points, 4 points ahead of the second-place club Medipol Basaksehir.

This is a rare occasion for the Super Lig but not surprising for Sivasspor with their impressive form.

Sivasspor are the only club in the league which achieved over 2-points average per game at the end of 17th week.

The central Anatolia club are one of the highest scoring teams in the Super Lig with Trabzonspor.

Both teams scored 35 goals in 17 matches.

Sivasspor also improved the defensive side of their game, conceding only 16 goals.
