HELSINKI
Turkish wrestler Taha Akgul has won his third consecutive gold medal at the 2014 European Wrestling Championships being held in Vantaa, Finland.
The two-time champion from Sivas, eastern Turkey, was winner of the men's freestyle 125-kg division.
Akgul, 23, won his first match against Armenia's Andranik Galstyan (11-0), quarter-final match against Belarus' Vadzim Shvedov (10 - 0) and the semi-final against Ukraine's Oleksandr Khotsianivsky (10-0).
Akgul triumphed against Russian fighter Alan Anatolevich Chugaev (10-0) in the final match to clinch the gold medal.
