Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir was selected the world's second best referee in 2012 by International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).
The referees in the list were selected by the votes of sports writers and authorities.
Cakir earned 73 points and ranked the second in the list, following top referee Pedro Proenca of Portugal.
Recently, Cakir has also been elected 2012's best international referee by "footballrefereeing.blogspot", which is considered as the world's most important blog site of referees.
