Tennis: World No.1 Halep knocked out of French Open

ISTANBUL

Women's world No.1 Simona Halep was eliminated from the 2020 French Open on Saturday.

Romanian star Halep was defeated by Poland's Iga Swiatek with the sets 6-1 and 6-2 in the fourth round.

Dutch star Kiki Bertens also said goodbye to the French Open in the fourth round.

World No.5 Bertens was eliminated by Italy's Martina Trevisan with the sets of 6-4 and 6-4 in one hour and 35 minutes.

Trevisan will face Swiatek in the quarterfinals of the French Open.

This is the first time for both Swiatek, 19, and Trevisan, 26, to qualify for a Grand Slam quarterfinal.
