ANKARA

Serbian Jovana Prekovic won the gold medal in the women's kumite 61kg event of karate at Tokyo Olympics on Friday.

She beat China's Yin Xiaoyan in the final.

Turkish Merve Coban and Egypt's Giana Lotfy each secured the bronze medals in the same category.

Turkey win 100th medal in their Olympic history

Turkey's Ali Sofuoglu beat Heejun Park from South Korea to win the bronze medal in the men’s kata category in karate.

Sofuoglu clinched the 100th Olympics medal for his country.

Japanese Ryo Kiyun won the gold medal in the same event.
