Golden State Warriors to retire Andre Iguodala's No.9 jersey, says franchise's Co-Chairman Joe Lacob
Golden State Warriors will retire newly traded Andre Iguodala's No.9 jersey, a statement by the franchise's Co-Chairman Joe Lacob said on Sunday.
’’We thank Andre for all of his contributions and look forward to seeing his number in the rafters at Chase Center,” said Lacob in the statement.
The Golden State Warriors traded Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies this summer.
As a part of the deal, the Warriors acquired 27-year old-forward Julian Washburn and protected first round draft pick to the Grizzlies.
Iguodala helped the Golden State Warriors reach five consecutive NBA Finals and won three NBA titles, during his six seasons with the team.
He was also named the 2015 NBA Finals MVP with the Warriors.
The 35-year-old player averaged with 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists last season.
Joe Lacob previously stated that the franchise will also hang All-Star forward Kevin Durant’s No. 35 jersey at the Chase Center, the new stadium of the Warriors.Anadolu Agency website contains only a portion of the news stories offered to subscribers in the AA News Broadcasting System (HAS), and in summarized form.
