19-year-old spiker awarded as 'Best Opposite Spiker' after FIVB Nations League finals
Turkey's Ebrar Karakurt was named as the 'Best Opposite Spiker' in FIVB Women's Nations League, after the tournament was concluded in China late Sunday.
Nineteen-year-old high scorer was one of the vital parts during Turkey's successful Nations League run, in which they finished 4th after being beaten by China 3-1.
Karakurt scored a match-high 31 points, while teammate Meliha Ismailoglu added 12 points in the loss.
Turkey -- who claimed the silver medal in 2018 -- completed the tournament in fourth place.
The U.S. won their second consecutive FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League title after defeating Brazil 3-2 in the final.
Annie Drews from the U.S. had 33 points and helped her team winning the gold medal with a historic comeback after they lost the first two sets against Brazil.
The-25-year-old was named the most valuable player of the competition.
Brazil won the silver medal in the tournament as they took fourth place in 2018.
Brazil's Macris Carneiro was awarded the best setter of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League while her teammate Gabriela Guimaraes and China's Liu Yanhan were named the best outside spikers of the tournament.
Brazil's Ana Beatriz Correa and Haleigh Washington from the United States shared the best middle blockers award.
