PORT SUDAN
Ten national teams from Africa will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the continent’s largest-ever representation in the tournament.
The teams include Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cape Verde, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo at the tournament, which will be hosted by the US, Mexico and Canada.

The format for the 2026 FIFA World Cup was expanded from 32 to 48 teams, and the allocation of slots among continents was reorganized accordingly.
While nine national teams from Africa secured direct qualification, the Democratic Republic of the Congo became the 10th to qualify after defeating Jamaica 1-0 in an intercontinental playoff match.
