Türkiye’s defense electronics company ASELSAN released on Friday new test footage of its close-in air defense system GOKSUR, designed to boost naval protection against fast and low-flying threats.

The footage, shared by ASELSAN on social media platforms, shows GOKSUR destroying a high-speed, sea-skimming target with a direct hit during an offensive scenario simulation against surface platforms.

GOKSUR is specifically developed to counter challenging threats such as anti-ship and cruise missiles that travel close to the water surface.

To address the dangers posed by their sudden maneuvers and low radar signatures, the system is equipped with an AI-assisted Advanced Fire Control System.

The system stands out with 360-degree threat elimination capability, a next-generation IIR (imaging infrared) seeker-guided missile, multi-target engagement, uplink/downlink midcourse guidance via data link, and high effectiveness against fast targets flying near the sea.

Thanks to its modular design, GOKSUR can be integrated into frigates, corvettes, and other naval platforms of various sizes.

It operates either as a standalone system or in integration with the platform’s combat management system.

ASELSAN confirmed that the vertical launch version of GOKSUR has also passed testing successfully.

The system is expected to play a key role in safeguarding Türkiye’s maritime zones with its next-generation capabilities and contribute to a multi-layered defense architecture, enhancing its export potential.
