Russia says 3 people killed, 20 injured in massive Ukrainian drone attack
Ukrainian attack involved 337 drones, according to Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW
Three people were killed and 20 injured in a massive Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow region, Russian authorities said on Tuesday.
Initially, Moscow region Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported one dead and three injured, while the hospital treating the injured later said the two of the wounded did not survive.
In a separate statement, the Health Ministry said 20 people were injured, including three children, and two people were hospitalized in extremely difficult condition.
Apart from casualties, the attack caused the destruction of the civilian infrastructure as drone debris fell on an apartment building in the town of Ramenskoye, destroying it partially, according to the governor.
"In total, more than 60 drones were shot down," he said.
In another statement, the Defense Ministry said 337 Ukrainian drones were either shot down or jammed across Russia’s territory last night, including 91 over Moscow and the nearby Moscow region.
The attack is the largest Russia has seen this year. On Feb. 26, the country reported a Ukrainian attack with 140 drones, and on Jan. 24 authorities said they intercepted and destroyed 121 Ukrainian drones.
According to the ministry, the latest attack affected 10 regions.
Commenting on the attack, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov praised Russia’s air defense systems, saying the damage could have been far worse given the scale of the assault. He also criticized Ukraine for targeting civilian infrastructure.
"It is important to note that the Kyiv regime is striking social facilities and residential buildings. Our military continues to target military and near-military sites, while the (Kyiv) regime attacks residential buildings," he claimed.
Peskov said President Vladimir Putin had been briefed on the incident.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry said an Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) delegation, led by Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu, visited the site of Ukraine’s overnight drone attack to assess the damage firsthand.
Commenting on the visit, ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said witnessing the aftermath in person would help OSCE officials better evaluate the situation.
