Russia claims to have captured another settlement in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region
Defense Ministry says Eastern Group forces advanced deeper into Ukrainian defensive lines
ISTANBUL
Russia on Tuesday claimed its forces had seized control of the village of Novouspenivske in southern Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, according to the Defense Ministry.
The ministry said units from the Eastern Group captured the settlement and advanced deeper into Ukrainian defensive lines.
Kyiv has not yet commented on the claim, and the situation on the ground could not be independently verified due to continued fighting.
The Zaporizhzhia region has seen some of the most intense clashes in recent weeks as Russian troops seek to consolidate their positions and extend control along the front line.
