Russia claims capture of another settlement in eastern Ukraine
Russian forces took control of Novokhatske village in Donetsk region, according to Defense Ministry

MOSCOW
Russia on Wednesday claimed that its forces captured the village of Novokhatske in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.
According to a Defense Ministry statement, the village went under Russia's control as a result of operation, carried out by the Russian Vostok (East) group of forces.
The ministry also claimed Russian aviation, drone, missile forces, and artillery struck Ukrainian military-industrial and energy infrastructure facilities, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian units across 148 locations.
It also claimed that over the past day, Russian air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian Air Forces MiG-29 fighter jet, four guided aerial bombs, two launchers, guidance point and combat control cabin of the S-300PS air defense system and an Israeli-made RADA radar station, and 178 drones.
Ukraine has yet to comment on Russia's claims, and independent verification is challenging due to the ongoing armed conflict.
