WASHINGTON

At least two social media accounts of the U.S. military’s Central Command were hacked Monday.

The agency’s Twitter and YouTube accounts were compromised and hackers posted a series of tweets that seem to point the finger at ISIL.

“American soldiers, we are coming, watch your back. ISIS," read one tweet, referring to an alternative name of the terror group. "In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful, the CyberCaliphate continues its CyberJiha," read another.

Documents that revealed the personal details of military officers, including addresses, were also posted on Twitter.

U.S. officials addressed the issue but did not lay blame on any group. "We can confirm that the U.S. Central Command's Twitter and YouTube accounts were compromised earlier today,” said a State Department official. “We are taking appropriate measures to address the matter. I have no further information to provide at this time,” she said.

CENTCOM currently leads an airstrike campaign against ISIL and have conducted approximately 1,500 airstrikes in Iraq and Syria along with an international coalition.
