BAKU
Anadolu Agency (AA) Board Chairman and Director General Kemal Ozturk criticized on Thursday the stance of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and some developed countries in the world, saying they were posing problems instead of solving them.
"While some part of the world is living under prosperity, tranquility and peace, other part is struggling with disasters in the field of life safety, nutrition, sheltering and health. This is unfair and inhumane," Ozturk told during his speech at 3rd Baku International Humanitarian Forum.
Ozturk emphasized that terrors, civilian wars, embargoes and occupations in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Kenya, Sudan and in many other countries turned millions of people's life into nightmare.
AA's director general criticized the stance of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) saying, "Structure of the UNSC poses problems instead of solving problems. I believe intellectuals at this forum will create some ideas that will end pains and chaos in the world."
He also reacted on the stance of some developed countries against crises in the world. "Most developed countries think their own countries' benefits instead of ending chaos descending into tragedy. Crises are deepening for that reason."
- Nagorno Karabagh issue still on the paper
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku delivered a speech regarding UNSC, and said that enforcement of the decision of international institutions has been applied double standards.
"Some decisions are applied in a few hours, but the decisions for the issue of Nagorno Karabagh has been on the paper for twenty years," said Aliyev.
Pointing out the occupation of Nagorno Karabagh by Armenia, Aliyev emphasized, this issue, which deals a heavy blow to the development of Azerbaijan, is a humanitarian catastrophe.
- Armenia's relation with Turkey and Azerbaijan should be normalized
Former Turkish President Suleyman Demirel has also attended the Baku forum.
Pointing to Armenia's relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan, Demirel said that Armenia should understand the benefits of normalized relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan.
"Armenia should take the necessary steps for the normalization of its relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan," said Demirel.
