Trump will visit Israel ‘in coming days’ after Gaza ceasefire deal, says Israeli president
Exact date of expected visit by US president not disclosed

JERUSALEM / ISTANBUL
US President Donald Trump will visit Israel “in the coming days,” Israeli President Isaac Herzog said Thursday, as the government is set to vote on a Gaza ceasefire deal with Hamas.
Herzog’s office said in a statement that Trump is expected to arrive in Israel “in the coming days” amid “significant progress in talks on the release of hostages.”
The exact date of Trump’s visit was not disclosed, but Israeli authorities announced heightened security measures and closures across Jerusalem, the flashpoint holy city.
Israeli media outlets, including public broadcaster KAN, earlier reported that Trump planned the trip amid news of the ceasefire agreement.
Israel’s Security Cabinet convened early Thursday to vote on the ceasefire agreement with Hamas to end its two-year war on Gaza. Phase one of the deal includes an Israeli withdrawal to an agreed line and a prisoner exchange.
On Sept. 29, Trump unveiled a 20-point ceasefire plan for Gaza that includes the release of all Israeli captives in exchange for around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, a permanent ceasefire, and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the entire Gaza Strip.
Phase two of the plan calls for the establishment of a new governing mechanism in Gaza without Hamas’ participation, the formation of a security force made up to Palestinians and troops from Arab and Islamic countries, and the disarmament of Hamas. It also stipulates Arab and Islamic funding for the new administration and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, with limited participation from the Palestinian Authority.
Arab and Muslim counties have welcomed the plan, but some officials have also said that many details in it need discussion and negotiations to be fully implemented.
