Qatar’s emir receives ‘message of solidarity’ from Egyptian president following Israeli attack
Message conveyed by Egypt’s foreign minister during visit to Doha

ISTANBUL
Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a verbal message of solidarity from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Thursday in the wake of an Israeli attack on Doha.
The message was conveyed by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty during his meeting with the emir, the Qatari state news agency QNA reported.
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said Abdelatty’s visit to Doha aims to “express Egypt’s full solidarity with the sisterly State of Qatar and to discuss ways to deal with the dangerous Israeli escalation and coordinate positions” with senior Qatari officials.
On Tuesday, Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike targeting Hamas leadership in Doha, killing five group members. Hamas confirmed that its leadership had survived the Israeli attack.
Qatar condemned the attack as a “cowardly act” and a blatant violation of international law, warning it would not tolerate Israel’s “reckless behavior.”
Qatar, along with Egypt and the US, has been mediating to end the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, where more than 64,700 people have been killed since October 2023.
