A Palestinian youth who was shot in the head by Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank died early on Thursday.

The 16-year-old Palestinian was being treated at Rafidia Surgical Hospital in the city of Nablus.

Ahmad Beni Shamsa was wounded while protesting with other residents of the town of Beita in Nablus against the establishment of a settlement outpost on their land in Jabal Sabih.

The Israeli army attempted to disperse the Palestinian protesters with live bullets.

International law regards both the West Bank and East Jerusalem as occupied territories and considers all Jewish settlement-building activity there illegal.

Meanwhile, six Palestinians were injured by Israeli troops during a dawn raid in the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank on Thursday.

Journalist Ali Sammoudi from Jenin told Anadolu Agency that an Israeli army force "stormed the German Quarter in Jenin, and confrontations erupted with Palestinian youths."

"One of the injured suffered serious injuries, and he was transferred to a hospital in the city of Nablus, while the rest were treated in emergency departments in Jenin Hospital," he added.
