GAZA CITY, Palestine / ISTANBUL

A Palestinian woman was killed and several people were injured by Israeli army fire in Gaza City on Thursday, in a new violation of a fragile ceasefire deal, medical sources said.

The sources told Anadolu that army forces opened fire toward Palestinian homes in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, killing the woman and injuring others.

Separately, the Israeli army claimed in a statement that its forces killed a Palestinian in the southern Gaza Strip for allegedly crossing the yellow line and “posing an immediate threat” to its forces.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said Thursday that at least 366 people have been killed and 938 injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10.

Phase one of the ceasefire deal includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The plan also envisages the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas.

Israel has killed more than 70,000 people, mostly women and children, and injured nearly 171,000 others in attacks in Gaza since October 2023.
