RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - A Palestinian man was killed Saturday during an attack by Israeli occupiers in the town of Deir Jari in northeastern Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian officials.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said Ali Majed Hamadna, 23, was killed after he was shot by occupiers during the attack.
The ministry said the bullet entered Hamadna’s back and exited through his chest. He was taken to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah in critical condition before being pronounced dead.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa, citing Deir Jarir council head Fathi Hamdan, said armed occupiers attacked the town from the west and opened fire at residents.
Hamdan said Israeli forces also entered the area to protect the occupiers during the attack.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said the attack came amid a continued escalation in occupier attacks across the occupied West Bank.
It said several Palestinian villages and towns had come under attack in recent hours, leaving residents injured and causing damage to land and property.
It added that Hamadna’s killing raises the number of Palestinians killed solely in occupier attacks to 12 since the beginning of 2026.
According to the commission, 47 Palestinians have been killed in occupier attacks since October 2023.
In an earlier statement, the commission said occupiers carried out 443 attacks between Feb. 28 and March 28, including live fire, arson attacks on property and attempts to establish new outposts.
The attacks during that period killed nine Palestinians and caused widespread damage to land, crops and property, according to the commission.
Israeli forces and occupiers have stepped up attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank, with the army continuing raids on cities, refugee camps and towns, along with mass arrest campaigns.
Since October 2023, Israeli actions in the West Bank have killed more than 1,147 Palestinians, injured 11,750, and led to the arrest of 22,000, according to Palestinian figures.
