Kuwait says it destroyed 13 ballistic missiles, 10 drones in last 24 hours
Falling debris causes limited damage with no casualties, says Defense Ministry
ISTANBUL
Kuwait’s Defense Ministry said Monday that its armed forces detected 17 “hostile” ballistic missiles within the country’s airspace over the past 24 hours and successfully destroyed 13 of them.
Official spokesperson Col. Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said in a statement that interception operations led to debris falling in several areas, causing limited material damage, including to some homes and power transmission lines, without any reported injuries.
He added that four missiles fell outside the threat zone and did not pose any danger.
The statement also said that 13 “hostile” drones were detected, of which 10 were destroyed, while three fell outside the threat zone without causing damage.
These developments come amid ongoing attacks launched by Iran since Feb. 28 using ballistic missiles and drones targeting what Tehran describes as “US bases and interests” in countries across the region.
