Three Israeli soldiers were injured Friday in the northern Gaza Strip, according to Israeli sources.

Two of the soldiers were injured after an anti-tank missile struck a tank in the northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli Army Radio reported.

The radio said one soldier sustained moderate injuries and the other was lightly wounded. It did not provide further details on the incident.

Later, in a statement, the army said: “A tank commander from Battalion 82, 'Saar from Golan' Brigade (7), was seriously wounded in combat in northern Gaza Strip.”

According to Israeli army data, the death toll of its forces stands at 890, in addition to 6,088 injured since the start the genocidal war on October 7, 2023.

Israeli officials have previously stated on multiple occasions that the army is paying a "heavy price" in Gaza and is facing "fierce fighting" with Palestinian factions.

Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, killing nearly 57,800 Palestinians so far, most of them women and children. The relentless bombardment has destroyed the enclave and led to food shortages and a spread of disease.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
