Israel says over 5,200 wounded in Iranian attacks since war onset

JERUSALEM

Israel’s Health Ministry said Thursday that 5,229 people have been wounded since the start of the war with Iran, including 149 injured over the past 24 hours.

In a statement, the ministry said that 114 people remain hospitalized, including 14 in serious condition, 28 in moderate condition, and 70 with minor injuries.

The ministry said 149 people were injured in Iranian attacks in the past 24 hours, including three in serious condition.

According to Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies, at least 19 people have been killed since the start of the war with Iran.

Israel maintains strict limits on information about the impact of Iranian retaliatory attacks and strikes by Hezbollah, with the military imposing tight media controls and warning against publishing footage of damage or revealing targeted locations.

The US and Israel have maintained airstrikes on Iran since Feb. 28, killing so far over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
