'The streets have never been empty' as Iranians defend country's humanity and territorial integrity, says Masoud Pezeshkian amid ongoing hostilities
ISTANBUL
The Iranian people "have created an extraordinary scene” by defending their “humanity, rights, nation, and territorial integrity” in the face of continued US attacks, the nation’s president said Saturday.
"Amid the powerful defense of our fighters, our people have created an extraordinary scene and the streets have never been empty,” Masoud Pezeshkian wrote on US social media company X.
"The U.S. president called them 'AI'; let their journalists come and see how people defend their humanity, rights, nation, and territorial integrity," he added, referring to Trump’s claims that Iran is using artificial intelligence as a “disinformation weapon.”
Hostilities in the region have escalated since the US-Israeli strikes on Iran began on Feb. 28, with Tehran retaliating with repeated drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
