Hamas says several Israeli soldiers killed, injured in Gaza City attack
Group says its fighters attacked Israeli soldiers inside school in Tel al-Hawa neighborhood

GAZA CITY, Palestine / ISTANBUL
The Palestinian resistance group Hamas said Tuesday that its fighters killed and wounded several Israeli soldiers in an attack in Gaza City.
The group’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, said on Telegram that its fighters attacked a group of Israeli soldiers inside the Rosary Sisters School in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in southern Gaza City on Monday.
Hamas said its fighters opened fire on Israeli soldiers at point-blank range, killing and wounding several. The group also claimed attacks on two armored personnel carriers and a Merkava tank at the site.
There was no immediate Israeli comment on Hamas’ statement.
The attack came as the Israeli army escalated its bombardment of Gaza City as part of a broader plan to fully occupy the city.
Israel maintains strict military censorship over domestic media reporting on casualties and damage from Palestinian attacks to preserve public morale, according to multiple international reports.
The Israeli army has killed over 66,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since October 2023. The relentless bombardment has rendered the enclave uninhabitable and led to starvation and the spread of diseases.
