Egypt condemned attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar on Wednesday, warning of the serious consequences for regional stability and global energy security.

In a statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry strongly denounced a ballistic missile attack targeting the Saudi capital Riyadh and reaffirmed Cairo’s full support for the kingdom in confronting what it described as unjustified attacks threatening its security.

The ministry also condemned the continued attacks on the UAE and reaffirmed Egypt’s solidarity with Qatar in the face of any attempts to target its territory or energy facilities.

Cairo also warned against targeting oil and gas installations across the Gulf, including liquefied natural gas facilities at Qatar’s Ras Laffan complex.

It also condemned attacks on civilian infrastructure and energy facilities amid the ongoing military escalation, including the targeting of the South Pars gas field in Iran, describing such actions as a violation of international law.

The ministry warned that attacks on energy infrastructure represent a dangerous escalation that could threaten global energy security and the international economy.

It called for restraint and renewed dialogue to contain the current military escalation and restore regional stability.

The statement came after the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28 that has so far killed around 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
