ISTANBUL

A drone targeted Kuwait International Airport on Saturday, causing minor injuries to several workers and limited material damage at Terminal 1 amid the ongoing US-Israeli war with Iran.

In a statement posted on the US social media company X, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation's spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said the drone strike resulted in slight injuries to a number of employees and “limited material damage” to the T1 passenger terminal building.

The spokesperson said competent authorities immediately implemented approved emergency procedures, secured the site and began assessment, mitigation and the reorganization of operational processes in line with the highest safety standards.

The authority added that further updates would be provided through official channels as they become available.

On Saturday morning, the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran, claiming it was meant to remove “threats” posed by the Iranian “regime.” In response, Iran targeted Israel and the US bases in the region with missiles and drones.
