A child was killed, and several others were injured in a US-Israeli airstrike that targeted a residential and tourist complex in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan province, on Saturday.

Mehr News Agency reported that the strike hit a complex in the city, causing damage and wounding several residents. A young child was killed in the attack, it added.

Khuzestan’s deputy governor said a three-member family was struck in the US-Israeli attack, leaving the parents injured while their child was killed.

The US-Israeli strikes on Iran began on Feb. 28, with Tehran retaliating with repeated drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
