The Israeli army killed 17 Palestinians, including a child, in fresh strikes that targeted the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to medics.

Medical sources told Anadolu that three people, including a little girl, were killed in an Israeli strike on a building sheltering displaced civilians in eastern Gaza City.

The Israeli army struck another building across from the Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City, injuring civilians.

A Palestinian fisherman was killed, and his brother was injured when Israeli forces fired at their boat in the western part of Gaza City.

The Israeli army also demolished a home with booby traps as it continued artillery shelling and airstrikes in the Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods, witnesses said.

The body of a Palestinian woman was transferred to Al-Awda Hospital after the Israeli army shelled Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. A number of others were also injured in the attack, the hospital administration said in a statement.

Three more people were killed when Israeli warplanes targeted a civilian gathering in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

Last week, Israel’s Security Cabinet endorsed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to fully reoccupy Gaza, triggering international outrage and domestic protests that warned it amounted to a “death sentence” for Israeli captives held in the enclave.

Israel has killed more than 62,000 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
