6 Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes targeting police posts in southern Gaza
3 police officers among dead in al-Mawasi area in western Khan Younis
GAZA CITY, Palestine
Six Palestinians, including three police officers, were killed and several injured early Sunday in Israeli airstrikes targeting police posts in southern Gaza, medical sources told Anadolu.
Witnesses said Israeli warplanes struck several police points in the al-Mawasi area in western Khan Younis.
Sources said three members of the Palestinian police force were among the dead in the strikes that wounded several others.
Earlier Saturday, three Palestinians, including two brothers, were killed and four others injured in Israeli shelling and gunfire in separate areas across the Gaza Strip.
Israeli forces have carried out daily violations of a ceasefire in place since Oct. 10, which have killed 691 people and wounded 1,876 as of March 18, according to Palestine Health Ministry data.
Israel launched a war on Gaza in October 2023, killing more than 72,000 Palestinians, wounding around 172,000, and devastating about 90% of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure.
