“Intensive” Israeli warplane activity was reported over Syria’s southern Quneitra province on Saturday, according to Syria Alikhbaria TV.

The broadcaster said there were “intensive flights of Israeli warplanes in the skies of Quneitra.”

Earlier, the broadcaster reported that sounds heard in the capital, Damascus, were caused by Israeli air defenses intercepting Iranian missiles.

No further details were immediately available.

The US and Israel have maintained airstrikes on Iran since Feb. 28, killing so far over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
