The Kremlin announced on Friday that the US has relayed to Russia the parameters of a proposed Ukraine peace plan discussed in Geneva, Switzerland last weekend.

Speaking to reporters at a press briefing, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Washington passed on the "main parameters" of the document to Moscow, “and there will be a discussion in Moscow next week.”

Earlier this week, US President Donald Trump said his special envoy Steve Witkoff will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin next week in Moscow, adding that his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, may accompany him.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov also confirmed that a preliminary agreement had been reached for Witkoff to visit Moscow next week.

Peskov said the exact date of Witkoff's visit will be provided "in a timely manner," and that they do not want to "get ahead of ourselves" by discussing the plan in public.

On Sunday, US and Ukrainian officials met in Geneva to discuss a peace framework for the Russia-Ukraine war, which was based on a draft 28-point proposal that has since been further refined.

Commenting on the negotiations in Switzerland, Putin told a news conference in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek on Thursday that the two sides had decided to divide the plan into four separate components, and a copy had been sent to Russia.

Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a Thursday evening video address that Kyiv and Washington will work together later this week to turn the points agreed on in Geneva into a "form that puts us on the path to peace and security guarantees."

"The Ukrainian delegation will be well-prepared and focused on substantive work. We remain in close contact with the American side and our European friends. I am also briefing our partners in other parts of the world," he added.
