US approves possible sale of Patriot equipment to Kuwait
Estimated cost is $425M, Pentagon says

WASHINGTON
The US State Department approved a possible sale of Patriot post-deployment build 8.1 and related equipment to Kuwait, the Pentagon said Wednesday.
The estimated cost is $425 million.
"This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by helping to improve the infrastructure of a major non-NATO ally that has been an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East," it said in a statement.
The principal contractor will be RTX Corporation in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale Wednesday.
