Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at close
BIST 100 gains over 1,000 points compared to Tuesday's close

ANKARA
Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.91% to 118,807.53 points at close on Thursday.
After starting the day at 118,792.38 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 1,066.44 points from Tuesday's close of 117,741.10 points.
The stock exchange was closed on Wednesday due to a public holiday, July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
During the day, the index hovered between 118,734.79 and 119,451.34 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was 868 billion Turkish liras ($126 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 20.6 billion Turkish liras ($3 billion).
Shares of real estate investment trust Emlak Konut, Turkey’s flagship carrier Turkish Airlines and defense giant Aselsan saw the highest trading volumes.
Stocks of real estate investment trust firm Torunlar GMYO, did the best, rising 9.98%, while shares of Halk GMYO, a real estate investment trust operating under Halkbank, did the worst, losing 3.86%.
One ounce of gold sold for $1,805.30 by market close, up from $1,804.30 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $43.70 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Thursday.
At the beginning of this year, a barrel of Brent oil sold for around $58.
