MOSCOW

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu visited various enterprises in the eastern Tatarstan region on Tuesday involved in the implementation of the state defense order.

Shoygu together with Tatarstan head Rustam Minnikhanov inspected the work of plants, producing weapons, trucks, optical equipment, and helicopters, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, Shoygu visited at least two of Tatarstan's cities – the capital Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny.
