Army says Makram Azimi oversaw dozens of ballistic missile launches toward Israel

The Israeli army claimed Thursday that it killed the head of missile forces in Iran’s Kermanshah province in an airstrike.
In a statement, the army identified him as Makram Azimi and said he had been responsible for missile operations in the area.
It claimed that Azimi oversaw dozens of ballistic missile launches toward Israel.
It added that a separate strike killed several battalion commanders in the same missile unit who, according to the army, were responsible for launch operations.
The US and Israel on Feb. 28 launched an air offensive on Iran, killing over 1,340 people so far, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel along with Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
