Anadolu captures damage to Al Araby TV office badly damaged by US-Israeli strike on Tehran
Al Araby TV bureau chief Kallass stresses that office is located in strictly civilian area with no military presence nearby
ANKARA
Anadolu has captured footage of the severely damaged building housing the Tehran office of Qatar-based Al Araby TV after it was hit by US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran.
The building in Iran’s capital sustained significant structural damage in a drone attack.
The Anadolu footage shows shattered windows, destroyed doors, and extensive damage to buildings and vehicles in the vicinity.
The strike took place while a television crew was getting ready for a live broadcast.
While technical equipment inside the Al Araby TV office was decimated, no casualties or injuries were reported among the staff.
Employees got out gear such as tripods and cameras by lowering them from balconies using ropes.
Hazem Kallass, Al Araby TV’s Tehran bureau chief, told Anadolu that the building was directly targeted by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV or drone) from the western side. Kallass said the team was on the 4th and 5th floors at the time of the explosion.
“We escaped without injury, but if we’d been in our usual spots, we likely would have lost our lives,” Kallass said, noting that the studio on the 3rd floor was completely destroyed.
Kallass emphasized that the office is located in a strictly civilian residential area with no military presence nearby.
“Our building is surrounded by homes. Inside the building itself, there were two barbershops, a coffee shop, a dentist, and a physical therapy clinic,” he added.
