3 Kuwaiti army personnel injured in 'hostile drone' attack on air base
Kuwaiti military says air defenses intercepted several drones while 2 struck Ahmed al-Jaber Air Base
ISTANBUL
Three Kuwaiti army personnel were injured in a "hostile drone" attack on an air base in Kuwait, the military said Saturday.
In a statement, the spokesperson for the Kuwait Ministry of Defense said air defense systems detected seven hostile drones since early Saturday.
Three of the drones were intercepted and destroyed, while two others fell outside the threat zone and posed no danger.
Two drones struck the Ahmed Al‑Jaber Air Base in southern Kuwait, causing material damage in the vicinity of the base.
The ministry said three armed forces personnel sustained minor injuries in the attack and received the necessary medical treatment, adding that their condition is stable.
Regional tensions have flared since Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,200 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries, which it says are targeting “US military assets.”
