Montenegro to mark its 17th anniversary of independence
Previously known as Serbia-Montenegro, the country gained independence with a referendum on May 21, 2006 and was renamed Montenegro. Today, it is seen as closest in the region to joining the EU20 May 2023•Update: 20 May 2023
