WASHINGTON

US President Donald Trump said Sunday that American forces had carried out major strikes in Iran, claiming that numerous targets were “taken out and destroyed.”

"Big day in Iran. Many long sought after targets have been taken out and destroyed by our great military, the finest and most lethal in the World," Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

He did not provide further details about the targets.

Earlier, Trump told reporters that the US destroyed "many targets today."
