Kuwait International Airport hit by multiple drone strikes
Airport’s radar system sustained major damage, according to Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority
ISTANBUL
Kuwait International Airport was targeted by multiple drone strikes, causing significant damage to its radar system, the country’s civil aviation authority said on Saturday.
Abdullah Al-Rajhi, spokesperson for Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the airport “was subjected to several drone attacks, but no casualties were reported.”
He added that the attack resulted in “major damage to the airport’s radar system,” noting that emergency teams and relevant authorities immediately began responding to the incident.
For nearly a month, the US and Israel have carried out an air offensive against Iran, killing more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damaging infrastructure, while disrupting global markets and aviation.
