UK Foreign Secretary Lammy arrives in Pakistan on official visit
David Lammy to meet Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his stay in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy arrived in Pakistan on Friday on a two-day official visit.
Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar hosted Lammy at the Foreign Ministry, according to an official statement.
The two will hold bilateral talks and Lammy is also expected to meet with Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during his stay in Islamabad.
Lammy is likely to discuss the current tension between Pakistan and India and ways to de-escalate the situation through diplomatic means.
Islamabad has thanked the UK, among others, for easing the tensions between Pakistan and India.
The hostilities ended after the US mediated a ceasefire between the two South Asian neighbors last weekend, which remains in effect.
On Thursday, the two countries' militaries decided to continue “confidence-building measures to reduce alertness level."
