ISTANBUL
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met on Saturday in Istanbul with Bakir Izetbegovic, a former member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidential Council.
The meeting took place behind closed doors at the Dolmabahce Working Office, according to a statement from the Turkish Presidency.
Under the country’s Constitution, the three-member council collectively serves as Bosnia and Herzegovina’s presidency. With one Bosniak, one Serb, and one Croat holding seats, the council’s chair rotates every eight months.
Izetbegovic served as the 6th Bosniak member of the council from 2010 to 2018.
