Serbia says Kosovo premier decided to attack Serbs

BELGRADE, Serbia

Serbia's president said Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has decided to attack the Serbs.

"On the request of Albin Kurti, Biljana Stevanovic was removed from the Kosovo institutions of Serbian judges today. The dismissal of all Serbian commanders and police officers who attended the session of the National Security Council was prepared for the morning," Aleksandar Vucic said late Thursday in a video on social media.

"Kurti violated the Brussels agreement, and according to his will and the will of those who protect him, the Brussels agreement no longer exists. Kurti is the one who wants to destroy peace in Kosovo and Metohija. With these decisions, he wants to attack the Serbian people wherever they live," he said.

Vucic warned countries in the Quintet -- France, Germany, Italy, UK and the US -- and the international community that Serbia wants to preserve peace.

"Whatever you do, Serbia will be with its people," Vucic said at the end of his extraordinary address via video on Instagram.

Brussels agreement is dead

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic also criticized Kosovo in a statement on Twitter.

"Brutal violence against Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija continues. Kurti undermines peace and stability with every new decision he takes. International agreements are being violated. Their basic human rights are being taken away. Accordingly, the Brussels Agreement is dead,'' said Brnabic.

Kosovo announced earlier that Serbs in Kosovo would not be able to vote in the April 3 Serbian presidential and parliamentary elections.

Then, President of the Mitrovica Court, Serb-origin Ljiljana Stevanovic, attended the National Security Council held in Serbia on March 22 and met Vucic.

"Kosovo Serbs want to organize protests in the coming days. I understand, this is their democratic right, I can't interfere with that," said Vucic.

The Kosovo government announced that it decided to suspend Stevenovic, who attended the council meeting in Serbia.
France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States criticized Kosovo for not allowing Serbs of Kosovo citizens to vote in the elections.

''With this decision, Kosovo's Government failed to demonstrate its commitment to the principle of protecting the civil and political rights of all its citizens, including of members of minority groups. Such an attitude of the Kosovo Government is not in line with our values and principles and will undermine their European aspirations,'' they said in a statement.

Armored vehicles set off for northern Kosovo

The convoy of ROSU armored vehicles set off Friday from Pristina to the north of Kosovo and Metohija.

Protests by Serbs in Gracanica in Kosovska Mitrovica are scheduled due to Kurti's decision.
