Poland: Number of COVID-19 cases passes 2M mark
Country reports nearly 26,000 cases in past 24 hours, plus 419 deaths
ANKARA
The number of coronavirus cases in Poland passed the 2 million mark on Friday after the country reported nearly new 26,000 infections.
According to the Polish Health Ministry, over the past 24 hours, 25,998 people tested positive for COVID-19 and some 419 people lost their lives.
The coronavirus death toll in the country of 38 million reached 48,807.
To the south, in Hungary, the total number of cases reached 549,839 with 10,759 new additions in the past 24 hours, the highest daily increase since the start of the pandemic.
Some 213 people also died from the virus, pushing the death toll to 17,841.
